“Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people's way.” For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite." -Isaiah 57:14-15 (ESV)As I grow older, I’m finding on a daily basis that I have to unplug myself from this world from all its noise and chaos and pressure and poison that leaks into our souls like an IV drip. It’ll make you mad. 5-10 SOLID minutes a day can do you a lot of good. Even when I just turn my phone off I feel so free that it’s like magic ✨
. Unplugging and recharging means turning the world on mute and actively reading and listening to His word. Even if you gain one simple truth from your time out session- it’s one thing you can hold onto and ponder over until you can recharge again. Jesus had to do it. He had to go get away from the crowds of people so He could be alone and pray. How much more do we need to do that so we can orient ourselves and focus on the mission He has for us? Something has to keep us going! Let it be the Lord! ❤️ MATERIALS:

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.” -Leviticus 17:11 (ESV)Before Jesus died on the cross for our sins, people had to make animal sacrifices to atone for their sins. The shedding of blood was considered a purification process. So when Jesus did die on the cross, His blood acted as a purification for our sins and we no longer needed to make animal sacrifices. (And thank goodness because it would be of animals being sacrificed in this day and age).
. @beautifulgoodnews Provided a lot of Bible references for this printable but I had already done them all 😆 so I had to research to find a verse that would fit. A lot of people think of cardinals as winter birds I guess because they stand out so much in the snow. Their beautiful red feathers against a snowy background is an awesome Illustration in remembering the purpose of salvation. MATERIALS: This is one of the introductory pages in my journaling Bible. The tabbies came blank but I stamped and stenciled them for a more unique look.

"Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger." -Proverbs 19:15 (ESV)Some days, it’s really hard not to feel like laying around doing absolutely nothing. Especially if you feel depressed and nothing is going right. I’m there. Oh I’m there.
But I never want to get to the point where I have no ambition. Where I don’t want to work, or see people, or even take a shower. If I have something to look forward to I’ve always got something to do. If you stay busy enough, you won’t have time to get stuck in a slump. . God wants us to do the same thing in our spiritual life or we’ll lose our zeal and become lazy. We have to stay active so we can stay sharp and focused and ready. What can a sloth do if it’s attacked? Not much. I laid the vellum over top of the page to see where I needed to cut a hole for the verse to fit through with a Xacto knife before I stuck it down with spray adhesive. Vellum isn't friendly with all adhesives but the spray adhesive worked perfect! Make sure you clean your nozzle after each use! MATERIALS:
"The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army." -Ezekiel 37:1-10 (ESV) This one of my favorite pages I've done to date! The background was done with a lot of sand, light pink and gray acrylics with Distress Oxides on top. I stained the skeletons with Frayed Burlap Oxide Ink which is the perfect decaying color for bones.
The pile of bones was the hardest part. I printed and fussy cutted some skeletons on large white shipping labels (I didn't have any white sticker paper sheets)- I figured that would be easier to stick down than using glue. Plus, the mod podge would have smeared the oxide ink. I also wanted to use the sticker backing from the skelly cut as sort of a ghost image to make the pile of bones look more real (and ghost like). I spent a lot of time on this but it was well worth it! MATERIALS:
