"But if anyone loves God, he is known by God." -1 Corinthians 8:3 (ESV)
It’s one thing to know of somebody but it’s another thing entirely to KNOW them. I know the president. I know his name and what he looks like. But do I KNOW him? Of course not. Does he know me? I’m sure he doesn’t know I even exist.
There are people who know of God. Even the Devil knows God but he doesn’t KNOW him. He doesn’t have personal one-on-one relationship with him. You can know God but not KNOW him. If you don’t have a personal relationship with Christ where you are devoted to learning and spending time with Him because you not only need to but you want to. You crave it. Without Christ you know you are one hot mess. More importantly, Christ KNOWS you. He can call you one of His own. He can advocate for you and represent you because you are His (just as we should do for Him!) He doesn’t do that with every one and certainly not with every so called “Christian” out there. When you are known by God, other people will know it too. And they will want to know more about being KNOWN so they can be in the known.
