#17 [food] Illustrated Faith Gratitude Documented 2017“You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you.” -Joel 2:26I’m personally grateful for the variety of food! We could have to eat the same thing every. single. day. God granted us not only a huge variety of organic food sources but by also allowing us to come up with an exponential amount of choices through harvesting, cooking, and preserving our food.
Next time you eat desert or drink your iced coffee, just remember that God blessed His creation with the ability of creating such wonderful things. MATERIALS:

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.” -Psalm 34:8 (ESV)This was the first verse I ever memorized and it was for a Christmas play at church. It was my only line as a gingerbread girl. I paired this up with my favorite food group- doughnuts.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." -Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)Did you know that the grapevine is the ONLY thing in the world that can change water into wine? The water is consumed by the vine, the vine produces grapes and grapes are turned into wine.
Did you also know that Jesus is the spiritual vine? “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples." -John 15:1-8 (ESV) When our spirit (water) is consumed through Christ (the vine) we are then able to produce fruit. Fruit over time is transformed into sweet wine. Wisdom is such a fruit that with time is like a sweet wine. This certain miracle is only mentioned in the book of John as is the previous mentioned verses. How beautifully poetic that this particular miracle be performed at a wedding where a union between water and wine represents our spirit and the true vine that is Christ! I love how scripture interprets scripture. I made this layout from a Trader Joe's paper bag design (: MATERIALS: |
