Someone gave this mug to me years ago as a coloring kit but the markers that came with it were water based (like Crayola) and would not stick to the surface. You think the company would know that. This was a time before brush alcohol markers and liquid alcohol ink. I tried using Sharpies but it left the surface really streaky. Fast forward YEARS later to using Brea Reese Alcohol Ink. Problem solved. I sprayed it with Krylon Clear UV-Resistant Clear Gloss and Krylon Acrylic Spray Paint Crystal Clear and now I have a colorful place to keep my pens.
If you try this, I wouldn't recommend using it as an actual mug to drink out of just because of the chemicals. Even though it does have a varnish, and you can find varnishes that are drink ware/dishwasher safe- it's still better to use these types of things for storage. MATERIALS:
I will never claim to be a card maker because all mine end up being turned into art journal pages 😂 BUT I had to make one for a friend who brought me doughnuts and meals for entire week 🙌🏻 and she insists on homemade cards ❤️
. I used some of this beautiful @mymomenta cardstock and stickers and die cuts! I stamped and watercolored the envelope to match 💖 MATERIALS: -Momenta Peony Watercolor Cardstock -Momenta Cut & Emboss Die-Border Flourish -Simon Says Stamp Delicate Flowers Clear Stamps -Ranger Letter It Clear Stamps, Thank You -Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Cracked Pistachio -Ranger Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Clear Stamps, Borders I found this wooden pineapple many moons ago at a yard sale. I painted it traditional pineapple colors when I was younger, even though I'm not a fan of pineapples- I just like painting stuff. I recently found it hanging out in a cabinet and all the colors had faded away with time so- time for a face lift! I used Brea Reese heavy body acrylics to cover with only one coat and sealed with clear varnish. Definitely worth the whole $.25 now!
