Liquid Watercolor
Brea Reese Watercolor InkThis quick-drying ink has no fillers or additives and is 100% acid-free, so your art is of the highest quality. Use a brush or fillable marker (sold separately) and combine this ink with some of the many shades and colors within the collection to create a work of art ready for instant display!
I love this ink because it is highly pigmented and the bright colors are gorgeous! The dropper bottles allow you to drip into a palette or use one of their three different sizes of refillable water brushes to create your own brush marker. Each ink is sold separately so you can mix and match to create your own palette. |
Brea Reese Liquid Metal InkIf you don't own anything else metallic in your craft stash then you need to own these beauties! Brea Reese Liquid Metal Ink is a water-based pigment ink with the most stunning metallic properties. When they mean liquid metal, it is literally like liquid metal. Be sure to shake well before each and every use.
They currently only have two colors -silver and gold- but I really hope they come out with the other metallics in the near future. |
Brea Reese Glitter InkBrea Reese Glitter Ink is the same beautiful pigmented and versatile liquid formula as Brea Reese Watercolor Ink but with a shimmering glitter effect. It's not a chunky glitter that will clog anything up but more of a fairy tale shimmer! They come in all the Brea Reese Watercolor Ink colors as well as clear additives that I like to add to one of their three different sizes of refillable water brushes so I can glitter to any project and every project I can. Sort of like a makeshift Zig Wink of Stella Brush if you don't own one or want to refill yours.
Be sure to shake well before each and every use! |

Crayola Watercolor SetIf you're new to watercolor and want to get your feel on for this medium, try out a Crayola Watercolor Set. For the price, I prefer this product over some of the bigger sets. It's not highly pigmented as some the expensive ones but it's not wax or chalk based like some of the other cheaper ones either. 16 colors for $4?

Water-Soluble Mixed Media Crayons
Ranger Distress Crayons by Tim HoltzDistress Crayons are formulated to achieve vibrant coloring effects on porous surfaces for mixed-media. The smooth water-reactive pigments are ideal for creating brilliant backgrounds, watercoloring, smudge effects and more. Color directly onto your surface and blend with water then layer with Distress Inks and Stains for more creative possibilities.
The difference with these versus other watercolor crayons is that after about a minute after application- they become permanent and you won't be able to blend them out anymore WHICH is good for certain project when you need your pigment to stay put. There are so many colors available in this line that you won't find anywhere else! |
Brea Reese Watercolor CreamsBrea Reese also has their own brand of watercolor creams in two different sets- Classic Colors and Metallic Colors.

Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof WhiteAs far as white pigment goes, this stuff is the BEST! This is the only white ink on the market so far that doesn't have bleed through, meaning color showing through the white pigment. One jar averages about $10 but it will last a very long time!

Winsor & Newton Art Masking FluidMasking Fluids are composed of rubber latex and pigment, and are used for masking areas of work needing protection when color is applied. Use a mask before you apply a watercolor wash to protect areas that you want to remain white. You can also use this over areas you have already painted to keep the base color just remember that the product may change the color a bit.
Before using this product, coat your paintbrush in a thin coat of dish soap to help protect your bristles and for an easier clean up afterwards. (Silicone brushes are also a great choice if you choose to do this regularly) Do not shake the solution but stir it instead with a wooden skewer or popsicle stick. Also, this product must be completely dry before you can paint over it so avoid using a heat gun otherwise you may not be able to remove it from the paper. To remove it, gently use an eraser over the mask- a Faber-Castell Kneaded Eraser works best! |
