The lace circle is actually a cupcake wrapper (well 2 put together) my friend collected for me from a wedding reception she went to. She collected all of them actually, so I have quite a few I get to play with. The bird is a die cut that was leftover from a teaching lesson years ago.

I originally tried to stamp the butterfly directly on the page but it didn't stamp very well so I painted over top of it and stamped the same image on a separate piece of paper and glue it on top.

Hexagon Zen Doodles

MATERIALS:

One of the things I like to keep with me in my book bag I travel with is a small sketchbook, a basic shapes drafting stencil, and a fine black sharpie. Theres something about drawing lines and doodles in black ink that is so meditative and relaxing.

I completed these while waiting in the emergency room for 6+ hours. It even struck up a conversation with an elderly lady and her circumstances with her husband who did pass away that night before he was even admitted to the ER.

It's a night I won't forget easily. Art has a way of capturing memories within the pages.

Nature Stamped Circles

This started with the using the leftover sticker paper from some circle stickers that I painted for some mixed media prints I was working on. I applied the sticker to a piece of paper, stamped and colored inside the circles. I do recommend coloring before you stamp though- its much easier. It's a great way to emphasize your smaller and not-used-so much stamps!
