Sacrifices Pleasing to God- Hebrews 13 (ESV)I started this devotional last year and I never finished. I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve done a lot of growing since then and the spiritual inventory I’m in now is wayyyyyy different than a few months ago.
. The older you get the more you realized how much you’ve messed up. You’re almost (insert rounded age here) and you still haven’t got your life together! You’ve done this, and you done this and you should have done this and NEVER should have done THAT. Can’t go back and fix it. Can’t take back those words you said. Can’t take back those thoughts you thought. Can’t take back those sins. <keyword>. Well, that only leads you to believe (and everyone else) that you are in fact a failure. Guess what? You’re absolutely right. . But guess what else? There is grace. There is mercy. There is peace. Those are things you can’t mess up because they’re not your creations- they’re God’s gift to you. In failure, there is victory in the Lord. In this mess of life there is beauty because God made us in His image and He loves us UNCONDITIONALLY. No matter what we do as Christians. . What we see may be a fingerprint painting disaster but God sees it as a beautiful masterpiece carefully constructed down to every square inch canvas of the fabric that is our life. . I love that this kit relates the message to art because if you’ve ever dabbled in art- it doesn’t take much to screw an art piece up. 98% of the time you can’t completely erase what you put down and you have to cover it up or work around it or trash it. If you have a piece you’ve been putting 400+ hours in (am I right art majors?) you do not want to do that! Heartbreaking! That’s life! We can’t cover up our sin, our mistakes, our regrets, troubles, our fears. Work around it?!? Seems impossible. But through God, it IS POSSIBLE. He won’t erase our problems but He will teach us how to deal with them and make them into something better out of our hot mess. Let the real artist be in charge! MATERIALS:
